William Lau Named Head Women's Volleyball Coach

Boston, MA – The Fisher Falcons welcomed last week a new head coach to the staff, William Lau.  Coach Lau will take over the Women's Volleyball team this season, a team headed into just its second season as a varsity sport finishing last year's season with a 10-8 overall record.

Lau comes to Fisher after serving four years as the Head Coach of the Boys and Girls teams at Boston Latin Academy, his high school alma mater.  While at Boston Latin Academy, his teams earned three city championships, as well as making it to the second round of the MIAA tournament in 2017.

Lau, who received his Bachelor of Science degree from Johnson & Wales University in Counseling Psychology, was a four-year college athlete at both Lesley University and Johnson & Wales.  He also is a member of the Boston Knights CAC 9-man volleyball team and competes throughout the Northeast.  "Volleyball has been a life passion for me. I look forward to coaching the Falcons this season," Lau said after being named the second coach in Falcons history.

"William has made an immediate impact in the short time he has been here, emphasizing the importance of fundamentals and fitness," says Falcons Athletic Director Cathy Courtney. "He is a great addition to our already incredible staff."

Coach Lau and the volleyball team will have their first test of the season on Thursday, September 6th on the road versus Dean College.
