Falcons Basketball Aiming For A Pair Of Wins Before Thanksgiving Break

Boston, MA- The Men's and Women's Basketball teams return to action tomorrow before the Thanksgiving break as the Fisher men will head up to Vermont Tech while the women will host Rivier University. The Men will be facing an undefeated Knights team who currently sit 6-0 in their young season.  The Falcons will have their work cut out for them as the Knights have averaged 94 points per game with four players averaging in double-digit points, while also holding their opponents to just 36.9% shooting.  Looking for their second straight win, the Falcons will look for leadership from their three starters that are all scoring in double digits this season as well; Senior Brandon Rembert (Camden, NJ), Junior Jhalen Lumpkins (Sacramento, CA) and Sophomore Giovanni Thompson (Kissimmee, FL).  Thompson is coming off his first double-double of his career as a Falcon and will look to continue shooting well in the paint.  Rembert leads all Falcons in numerous categories including points, assists and steals and is a big part of the team's three wins thus far.  Junior Ville Milan has been the team's sharpshooter as he has shot 50% from behind the arc for team-high 13 three-pointers.  The two teams will tip-off at 2pm at the SHAPE Gymnasium at Vermont Tech.  Live stats can be found here:  http://athletics.vtc.edu/sports/mbkb/2018-19/boxscores/20181120_92bn.xml

The Fisher women will host the Rivier University Raiders who are currently 0-5 this season.  The Falcons begun their season with five straight wins, good enough for the best start in school history, but hit a bump in the road when they faced NCAA Division I, UMass-Lowell last Tuesday leaving them with their first loss.  Now 5-1, the Falcons hope to make it six with a victory over the Raiders tomorrow evening with the game slated to start at 7pm at Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, MA.  The Lady Falcons also have three starters with double figures as Junior's Vivian Lara averages 19.7ppg, Kellie Gaston averages 16.2ppg and Jenny-Lynn Eggers averages 11.8ppg.  Lara also leads the Falcons in three-pointers, rebounds and steals and has done a great job leading her team.  Junior Piper Mali has been a force from the point as she continues to find open teammates and leads her team with 21 assists, with just nine turnovers.  Defensively, freshman reserves Shaniah Hazard and Misha O'Neal have stellar off the bench as Hazard is currently second on the squad in rebounds with 48 while O'Neal is second on the team with 12 steals.
