Four Falcons Named To The N.I.A.C. All-Conference Team

(Boston, MA)- Despite a heartbreaking end to the season, a 3-2 loss in overtime to NIAC foe Green Mountain College in the NIAC Championship, the Lady Falcons have something to celebrate as the team had four individuals selected to the NIAC Women's Soccer All-Conference team. The teams were released by the NIAC Commissioner, Meg Schebler, on Thursday afternoon.  Senior captains Chelsea Browne and Delaney McNulty were selected as well as sophomore Grace Roach and newcomer Carla DaSilva.

Senior defender, Chelsea Browne (Milford, MA), was a vital part of the Falcons defense. Browne was well known her smart defense plays and creativity in the backfield, as well as notching two goals this season.  Due to her stellar performance in the backfield, Browne was awarded the NIAC Championship Defensive MVP. She was also awarded A.I.I. Second Team All-Conference for her defensive play this season. Browne will definitely be missed next year as the Falcons will look to fill her shoes for next season.

Senior midfielder, Delaney McNulty (Northridge, CA), was voted for her play as she was the second highest point scorer for the Falcons, despite going down with a season-ending injury in October. She led the Falcons in points with 30 with 13 goals and 4 assists. McNulty also had four games in which she scored two or more goals, including a 4-game goal against University of Maine-Presque Isle. ALong with Browne, she was also awarded A.I.I. Second Team All-Conference for her play this season and will be missed next season.

Sophomore midfielder, Grace Roach (Hutchinson, MN) was another recipient for her outstanding performance in the midfield. Roach had a career-high four points in one game against Pine Manor, tallying two goals in the win.  Her high energy and ability to play both ends of the field earned her the recognition of the conference.

Freshman forward, Carla DaSilva (Somerville, MA) was another key factor in the Falcons success this season, particularly against NIAC opponents. Seven of her 11 points on the season came against NIAC teams, and finished fourth on the squad in scoring this season. DaSilva was known for her speed as she would burst down the side and create opportunities for her teammates. DaSilva also recorded a goal in the NIAC Championship.

The Fisher College Community would like to recognize these student-athletes for their hard work and dedication both on and off field. We would like to congratulate and support these four individuals as they have accomplished much success in the 2018 season.
