Sophomore Giovanni Thompson Earns A.I.I. Player Of The Week Honors

Boston, MA- For the first time this winter a men's basketball player has been voted the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I) Player of The Week. Sophomore forward Giovanni Thompson was nominated by Coach Rob Blouin for his continued strong play in the Falcons three wins over the last week. This is the final A.I.I. POTW award for the 2018 calendar year.

The 6-foot-5 forward from Kissimmee, FL, tallied two double-doubles last week, scoring 20 points in both the University of Maine-Machias and Fort Kent victories, while adding 12 and 10 rebounds respectively. Over the last five games, Thompson scored in double figures, four out of the five games, while averaging 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in that stretch.  

Overall, Thompson is averaging 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in helping Fisher to a 7-8 record.
