Boston, MA- The Men's and Women's Basketball are both coming off very tough losses and are both looking to get back on the winning track this week as both teams have mid-week away trips. The Men's Basketball team faced Vermont Tech College on Monday evening for the second time this season, and for the second time could not hold off the Knights late comeback as the Knights secured the 97-92 victory. This is the second loss in a row for the Falcons as they head south to Connecticut College on Tuesday evening to take on the Camels with hopes to end the skid at two games. The Camels are currently on a three-game losing streak, most recently falling to Williams College 95-69, and sit at 4-8 overall. 

Despite having lost the past two contests, the Falcons have been shooting well in their efforts. Over their last six games the Falcons have shot an impressive 46% from the floor while winning three of the six games. In that stretch Coach Rob Blouin has seen production across his entire bench as all players have contributed. Eight different Falcons have registered double-digit point totals, including five double-doubles over the month of December. Jhalen Lumpkins (Sacramento, CA) has led the way in the last six games scoring in double figures in all but one, averaging 13.8 points per game. Overall Lumpkins averages 12.3 ppg and is second on the team in rebounds per game (5.8) and steals (22). Giovanni Thompson (Kissimmee, FL) is just behind him with 11.6 ppg while averaging 5.4 rpg. Chris Sorapuru (Temecula, CA) is the current leader on the glass as he averages 6.0 boards per game while collecting six blocks this season. Kyle Snowden (Santa Cruz, CA) has been a leader at the point as he has dished out a team-leading 57 assists. 

The Camels are averaging 76.6 points per game while shooting 43% from the floor this season but have yet to hit the century mark in their first 12 games contests. They are led offensively by David Labossiere who averages just over 20 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while shooting 47% from the floor. He has scored 47 points in his last two games, including a 36-point performance in their loss to Middlebury College. Dan Draffan is the other Camel to average in double figures with 17.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, falling just shy of averaging a double-double over his season.  

Fisher and Connecticut's only common opponent over the season is Coast Guard with both teams recording a loss against the Bears as Fisher lost 91-70, while the Camels fell 101-72. The two teams will square off at the CC Athletic Center at 7pm. The game can be streamed live here.

The Women's Basketball is coming off a double-header loss to the A.I.I. second ranked Indiana University Northwest Redhawks, including a heartbreaker on Sunday where they come up just short falling 54-52. The loss was a tough one for the Falcons as the Redhawks are currently receiving votes for the Top 25 NAIA Poll. The Falcons will look ahead now and will head out to Chestnut Hill to take on the Pine Manor College Gators on Wednesday evening at 6pm. The Falcons are currently in the longest losing streak of their season having lost their last four contests, so will be looking to break back into the win column against the Gators. PMC currently owns a 1-9 record and are in their own five-game losing streak so both teams will be hunting for the win. 

Different from the men, the women were active over the holiday break as they headed South to Florida to take on numerous NAIA opponents all from the highly competitive Sun Conference. The Falcons came back 1-3 from the trip having defeated Warner College, but played hard against strong competition. The Falcons are currently averaging 62 points per game, but have not hit that mark since their 94-69 win over the University of Maine-Machias back on December 12th. Over the last six games Coach Ford has seen double-digit performances from five different players including Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, CA), Kellie Gaston (Tampa, FL), Vivian Lara (Norwalk, CA), Piper Mali (Oro Valley, AZ) and Misha O'Neal (Tampa, FL) and he will look to see these players to continue to contribute. Lara and Gaston both had 20-point plus performances in the six-game stretch, including back-to-back 21 point games from Lara. Gaston has been shooting well over the last three contests as she has combined for 48 points and nine rebounds in the losing efforts. Overall, Lara leads the team in points per game (17.2), rebounds per game (7.4) and steals (38). Shaniah Hazard (Providence, RI) continues to play well off the bench and currently leads the team in assists with 45 and is second on the squad in boards with 108. 

The Gators are averaging just 48.2 points per game while shooting 30.6% from the floor over their first ten games. Their one win of the season came over GNAC opponent University of Saint Joseph (CT) having defeated the Bluejays 60-49. The Gators are led offensively by Oceane Tabbak who currently averages 10.4 points per game, and has been in double figures all but four times this season. Aleah Lauti has also been productive for her team as she averages just under 10 points and 9 rebounds per game, while earning two double-doubles this season, as well as dropping 25 points in their loss to Albertus Magnus College on December 8th.

The two teams will square off at the Pine Manor gymnasium on Wednesday evening at 6pm.
