Men's Soccer Announces Its Fall 2019 Incoming Class

Boston, MA - The Fisher Men's Soccer program announced its Fall 2019 Recruited Class on Monday morning; an incoming class that includes a full, selective roster from all over the country and beyond. The team will compete amongst a highly competitive Association of Independent Institutions Conference (AII) and the Northeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC), while aiming for an NAIA National Championship this year and many years to come.

After a 2018 season which concluded with a win over Green Mountain College to clinch their first-ever NIAC Championship, the program returns with first-year head coach Kyle Yelin, who looks to immediately raise the bar after an extremely successful recruiting campaign which includes 10 transfer student-athletes, seven true freshmen, four International recruits, and Jonathan Collins, a graduate student who comes from Division I UMass-Amherst where he holds all-time historical records, and a gold medal after competing four years for the Minutemen's Track and Field team.

"I'm extremely excited to announce our Fall 2019 incoming class. From the diversity of our recruits Nationally and Internationally, the combination of experience and youthfulness, and the ambition to grow and improve each session throughout preseason and our season, it promises to be an exciting year to be a Falcon," said Coach Yelin.

Amongst its incoming player list, International players include Daisuke Suzuki from Japan, Nic Shervensquy and Pedro Wagner from Brazil and Ka Ho Fira Lam from China. The team also welcomes players representing California, Texas, Florida, as well as multiple surrounding boroughs in the Massachusetts and Boston area. Fisher Men's Soccer also welcomes local BC transfer student-athlete, Ryan McCassie, a native of Waltham, MA, who brings an experienced, technical background through the center of the park, as well as an attack. Ryan promises to bring his experience and ability to drive the style of play, provide on-field leadership, and play attractive soccer amongst the team.

Senior captains, Kervins Surpris and Stephen Jagba, will lead these new players on and off the field, setting the extremely high standard and culture amongst the program. Both majoring in Business, these two student-athletes demonstrate what Fisher Athletics represent with its tradition, culture, and bring a 'win, win, win, win' attitude that promises to live up to expectation.

The Falcons will assume a full roster of up to 30 players, and kickoff the first of their preseason scrimmages 8/26 against Emmanuel College at Boston University's Nickerson Field at 5pm.

"This recruit class brings a highly touted mix of experienced and youthful talent, and represents what this program and Fisher Athletics are all about. I'd like to especially thank Athletic Director, Cathy Courtney, Fisher Athletics Staff, and Coach Julian Crowder for their assistance through this deep recruiting class. We couldn't be more excited as a program to get our season underway this week," says Coach Yelin.
