Falcons sweep Houghton, improve to 4-1

The Fisher Falcons continued their hot streak as they improved their record to 4-1 after sweeping a Friday doubleheader versus Houghton College in Flemington, New Jersey.

The Falcons scored a season high 11 runs in the day's first game to cap off a dominate performance against their former American Mideast rivals.  The Falcons got five home runs from five different players to pace their offensive on slot.

Junior Jefry Castro picked up his first win of the year after going six full innings. The Union City, NJ native only surrendered one hit and one earned run while striking out nine.   Davidson Peguero pitched the seventh inning to close out the Falcons victory.

The Houghton Highlanders out on the pressure to start the second game, scoring a run in the first and three in the top of the second.  However the Falcons were able to respond with a run of their own in the bottom of the first and capped off the comeback with a four runs in the bottom of the second.  The Falcons were passed by freshman Yuliano Rodriguez's(Toa Alto, PR) second home run of the afternoon.

Fisher added insurance runs in the 4th and the 5th and were able to overcome a poor outing by senior Casey Reed to extend their winning streak to 3.

Fisher and Houghton return to action tomorrow afternoon when they will finish their four game series with a doubleheader beginning at Noon.
