Escarfullery fans 12 to earn Falcons win over Rivier

Malden, MA -- Junior Pedro Escarfullery went five scoreless innings allowing just four hits while striking out 12 to give the Fisher Falcons a 2-0 non-conference victory over the visiting Rivier Raiders. 

The victory, Escarfullery's 1st of his career, improved the Falcons to 12-12 while Rivier University drops to 1-11 on the year.

In took until the 3rd inning for the Falcons to open the scoring. Sophomore Dominic Zaher began the inning by reaching on an error by the 1st baseman.  After a Sammy Alejandro bunt moved Zaher to 2nd, he would come around to score the Falcons 1st run of the came when junior Eridani Dume singled to left two outs.

The Falcons added an insurance run in the 4th inning when Anthony Peguero singled to center and advance to 3rd on an error. Peguero came across to score on the next pitch when Yuliano Rodriguez flew out to left.

Chris Cantu came on in the 9th to earn his 3rd save of the season. The Falcons return to action Thursday when they host SUNY Canton at 7PM at Fraser Field in Lynn, MA.
