Callahan, Fisher shut down SUNY Canton in non-conference action

Boston, MA – Senior Michael Callahan went six innings and allowed just 1 run to lead the Fisher Falcons to a 5-1 non-conference victory of the SUNY Canton Roos. The Falcons offense scored in five different innings on nine hits to earn their third straight win and move to 13-12 on the year. With the loss the Roos drop to 3-13 on the season.

Fisher opened the scoring in the 2nd inning when junior Davidson Peguero led off the inning with a walk.  After a Yuliano Rodriguez single and a Dominic Zaher one out walk loaded the bases for Sammy Alejandro.  The senior catcher drove a fastball to right field, plating Davidson Peguero.

The Falcons tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning when junior Eridani Dume had a two out single that scored Rodriguez and Zaher.  Fisher added their fourth run of the night the very next inning when Davidson Peguero homered to right center.

After SUNY got on the board for the first time the Falcons closed out the scoring in the bottom of the 7th when Daurys Batista singled to left and Anthony Peguero led off the inning with a three base error by the centerfield.

Fisher's offense was paced by Dominic Zaher and Yuliano Rodriguez's two hits. Sophomore Chris Cantu pitched the ninth inning to earn his fourth save of the year.

The Roos and Falcons return to action tomorrow evening with a 4PM doubleheader at Fraser Field in Lynn, MA.
