Falcons clip Owls in Game 1

Lynn, MA -- The Falcons of Fisher College extended their winning streak to 11 games with the win over the Owls of University of Maine-Presque Isle in the first game of the double header.

The Owls struck first when Shane Smith (Farmington, ME) scored on a ground out by Antony Batchelder (West Enfield, ME). The Falcons came back in the bottom of the first scoring five run in the inning, including a 2-run double by Sophomore Dominic Zaher (Chelmsford, MA).

The Falcons added four more runs in the second with runs batted in by Zahar and Senior Jose Paulino (Lawrence, MA), and five more runs in the fourth driven in by Paulino, Andre Ruiz (Freshman/New York, New York), and Yuliano Rodriguez (Freshman/Toa Alto, PR).

Ruiz drove another run in during the bottom of the sixth in reply to the owls scoring four runs in the top of the fifth. The Owls staged a small comeback with two runs in the top of the seventh but it was a little too late as the Falcons were able to finish the game with a lead of eight runs.

Junior Jefry Castro (Union City, New Jersey) went four innings while the Falcons also used three different relievers for a inning a piece.
