Escarfullery, Falcons Complete Doubleheader Sweep

Lynn, MA -- Junior Pedro Escarfullery (Waterbury, CT) had a dominating performance on the mound as the right-hander went seven innings to earn his second win of the year and lead the Falcons to an 8-2 win in game two. Escarfullery allowed just four hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out five during his second start of the year.

The Bulldogs and Falcons traded runs in the 2nd inning before the visitors took the lead on Brandon Fischer's RBI single in the 3rd.

Fisher powered back by scoring 7 unanswered runs to earn their 26th victory of the year. Fisher's big inning came in the 4th when they scored five runs on six hits. Joshua Boyd (West Chester, NY) led off with a single before a Yuliano Rodriguez (Pao Alta, PR) walk. A Davidson Peguero (Boston, MA) bunt single loaded the bases prior to the Falcons getting their first run of the inning by a balk by the Briarcliffe pitcher. Two more runs scored when senior Sammy Alejandro (Hartford, CT) then single to right center before being thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.

The scoring finished when Anthony Peguero doubled down the right field line, scoring Jose Paulino and Eridani Dume, who had reached on a walk and single, respectively.

Escarfullery pitched a one-two-three seventh inning to cap of the fourth fifth straight complete game by the Fisher starting pitcher.
