Falcons Take Three Out of Five Versus University of Huston-Tillotson

In game 1, the Falcons sent Shawn Carlson (JR-Andover, MA) to the mound.  After a rough first inning where Carlson allowed 2 runs, he settled in and struck out 7 in 5+ innings pitched.   Unfortunately, the Falcons hitting woes continued and were only able to muster up 2 runs on 5 hits.  FINAL- 4-2 HTU.

In game 2 of the double header, the Falcons sent John Tangherlini (SR-Lincoln, RI) to the hill.   Finally, the Falcons came alive with the bats and put up 11 runs on 15 hits.  Leading the way offensively, was Davidson Peguero (SR- Boston, MA) who went 3-4 on the day with 3 runs driven in and a double and home run.  Yhonathan Santelises (SR- Lynn, MA), Ivan Cabranes (SO-Toa Alto, PR) and Dom Zaher (JR- Chelmford, MA) each added 2 hits.   Tangherlini went 5 strong innings with 7 strikeouts and Adam Somers (SO- Framingham, MA) threw 2 scoreless innings in relief.  FINAL- 11-5 Fisher.

Game 3 of the series came later in the afternoon after the makeup game with SEU.  Once again, the Falcons came alive with the bats scoring 12 runs on 19 hits.  Davidson Peguero once again had 3 hits with 2 doubles and a home run while driving in 3 runs.  Victor Lebron (SR- Union City, NJ) added 4 hits with 4 stolen bases on the day while scoring 4 runs.   Sander Vargas (JR- Lawrence, MA) and Nelson Lopez (SO- Brooklyn, NY) added 3 hits each as well.  Pedro Escarfullery (SR- Waterbury, CT) went 5+ innings on the mound with 8 strikeouts to record his first win of the season.  FINAL- 12-6 FISHER.

Game 4 of the series started off the wrong way right from the beginning.  Starting pitcher, Adam Somers (SO-Framingham, MA), normally a reliever, struggled with command in the second inning and allowed 4 runs in the second inning.  That would be all that HTU would need as the Falcons only recorded 5 hits without scoring a run.  Hector Ozoa (FR- Bayamon, PR) stood out offensively with 2 hits and played tremendous defense at short stop.  Reliever, Nelson Lopez, pitched 3 scoreless innings to keep the Falcons in the game, but the offense was just not there.  FINAL- 6-0 HTU.

In the tail end of the last double header and the rubber match, the Falcons sent Brian Rosa (SO-Queens, NY) to the mound.  Rosa pitched 6 innings, allowing just 4 hits and 1 run.  The Falcons were able to score 5 runs on 7 hits.  Davidson Peguero once again led the Falcons with 3 hits.  With the score only 2-1 going into the 6th inning (of a 7-inning game), the Falcons used their speed to create some defensive mistakes and put the game away by scoring 3 runs.  " Rosa came up big for us.  With this being our 8th game in 4 days, we needed our starter to get deep into the game.  He was huge for us.  This gave our bullpen a chance to get one extra days rest", said Head Coach Scott Dulin."When you're on the road like we are so early in the season, you look to win the series.  We lost the series with SEU and we needed this one.   The guys played  a lot in a short amount of time, but they figured out a way to take the series."
