Tangherlini Salvages Split for Falcons

Boston, MA – The Fisher Falcons salvaged a split of Saturday's doubleheader with Briarcliff College with a 5-2 victory in game two after dropping game one 1-0 in 8 eight innings.

It was the 5th and 6th meetings between the two schools this season, with Braircliff taking 3 of 4 games at home in early April.

Victor Mendez (Lawrence, MA) pitched will in game one despite taking the loss.  Mendez went all eight innings, allowing just one unearned run on three hits.  The right hander recorded seven strikeouts while surrendering four walks.

Senior John Tangherlini (Lincoln, RI) earned the victory in game two for the Falcons with a six innings effort. Tangherlini gave up two runs on three hits and two walks.  The right hander managed to record eight strikeouts in the win.

Offensively, the Falcons were led by Victor Lebron (Union City, NJ) and Yhonthan Santelises (Lawrence, MA).  Lebron was a combined 3 for 6 while Santelises finished the doubleheader 2 for 5 with a run scored.

Fisher and Briarcliff conclude their season series Sunday afternoon at Fraser Field with a 12pm doubleheader.
