Falcons sweep day two of Houston-Victoria Series

Victoria, Texas – The Falcons of Fisher College took games two and three of their four-game series versus the University of Houston-Victoria Saturday afternoon in Yoakum, Texas. Fisher won game one, 7-5, followed by an 8-2 victory in the night cap.

Fisher improved to 3-7 on the season with the doubleheader sweep while Houston-Victoria fell to 10-13.

Junior Ryne McNary earn his first victory of the season for Fisher, throwing 2/3 of an inning in relief of starter Shaun Carlson. Carlson got the no decision after lasting 4 and 1/3 inning, allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks. The right-hander managed three strikeouts on the day.

Jessue Alvarado belted his second home run in as many days to pace the Falcons' offense, which has awaken in the UHV series. Seven different Falcons collected a hit in game one.

Freshman Amauris Santana led Fisher to the sweep after pitching five full innings in the day's second contest. The New York native scattered six hits and three walks while allowing two earned runs. The right-hander notched six strikeouts on the evening.

The Falcons continued their offensive outburst in the nightcap, belting a season-high 12 hits. Juniors Yuliano Rodriguez and Devin Perry and senior Jordan Berry each had two hits on the afternoon. Berry smashed his first home run of the season on his was a four RBI outing.

The Falcons and Houston-Victoria continued their four-game series Sunday morning at 10:00am. The Falcons go for the four-game sweep for the second consecutive season.
