Falcons Sweep Aside College of St. Joseph's Vermont

Boston – Victor Mendez (Lawrence, MA) and Shawn Carlson (Andover, MA) each had stellar pitching performances to lead the Fisher College Falcons to a doubleheader sweep over the College of St. Joseph's (VT) Saints.

In game one, Mendez went five complete innings, allowing just one hit and no runs.  The senior recorded nine strikeouts while surrounding three walks.

Offensively, The Falcons were paced by two fit days from Dominic Zaher (Chelmsford, MA), Yuliano Rodriguez (Bayamon, PR) and Dylan Moss (Mount Pearl, Canada).

Carlson was not to be outdueled by Mendez, as the right-hander also went five innings in game two. Carlson allowed two hits on the day but allowed just one walk.  The senior matched Mendez with nine strikeouts in the night cap.

Zaher, Sander Vargas (Lawrence, MA) and Jessue Alvarado (Lawrence, MA) each collected a hit the game two as the Falcons scored two unearned runs on the evening to earn their 5th win of the season.

The Falcons are back in action tomorrow when they host the University of Maine – Farmington in a day-night twin bill.  Game one is scheduled for an 11 A.M. first pitch at Trinity Stadium in Haverhill, Mass while the night cap will take place at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Mass beginning at 7 P.M.
