Falcons over .500 with win over Rivier

Boston – In a rain-shortened 5 inning game, the Fisher Falcons eased to a 9-0 victory of the Rivier University Raiders Thursday night at Maplewood Park in Malden, Massachusetts.

The game was shortened due to the consistent rain that was falling throughout the night.

Junior Brian Rosa notched with win for the Falcons after hurling a complete game two hit shutout.  The right-hander struckout eight while allowing four walks.

Offensively, the Falcons collected eight hits from eight different batters. Redshirt freshman Cody Mercier led the way with a 1-for-2 2 RBI night.

The Falcons return to action Friday night when they host the College of St. Joseph's in Vermont. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 pm and for the first time all season the game will be played at Fraser Field in Lynn, MA.
