Fortuna, Falcons complete sweep of Briarcliffe

Lynn, Mass. – The Fisher Falcons closed out the 2015 regular season in dramatic fashion, overcoming a six-run deficit to complete the doubleheader sweep over visiting Briarcliff College. The Falcons finish with a 29-13 record as they head to the A.I.I. Conference tournament that begins on Saturday, May 2, in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Senior Christopher Cantu earned his seventh save of the year in game one's 5-3 victory. Amarius Santana earned the win after throwing six shutout innings. The right-hander allowed just two hits and a walk while striking out three.

The Falcons belted seven hits in the opener, including two hits from Yuliano Rodriguez (2-for-3), Sander Vargas (2-for-3), and Jose Fortuna (2-for-3).

After falling behind 8-2 after four innings, the Falcons battled back in game two for the 10-8 win. Jose Fortuna notched his first homerun as a Falcon to cap off a six-run fifth inning before RBIs by Devin Perry and Jordan Berry in the bottom of the sixth completed the comeback for Fisher.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday, May 2, in the opening round of the 2015 A.I.I. Baseball Championships. Saturday's opponent and game time is still to be determined.
