Mendez, Carlson, dominate Briarcliffe in doubleheader sweep

Boston – The Fisher Falcons cruised to a doubleheader sweep over Briarcliff College Saturday afternoon at Fraser Field in Lynn, Massachusetts. The Falcons took game one, 8-1, before a 4-1 win in the nightcap.

Senior Victor Mendez earned the win in the opener, throwing six complete innings. The right-hander allowed two hits and an uneared run while collecting six strikeouts over the course of his outing.

 

In game two senior Shawn Carlosn went five innings and 2/3 to earn the win. Carlson, Ryne McNary, and Christopher Cantu combined for the complete game five hitter.

Offensively in game one, Fisher was led by Jose Fortuna (3-for-3), Dylan Moss (2-for-3), Jordan Berry (2-for-4) and Jessue Alvarado (2-for-2).  Dominic Zaher added a 2-for-4 performance in game two.

Fisher and Briarcliff return to action tomorrow afternoon with a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at Fraser Field in Lynn.
