Falcons Compete Sweep of PSU-Brandywine Nittany Lions

Aston, PA – The Fisher Falcons completed the three-game sweep of Penn State – Brandywine after knocking off the Nittany Lions 10-0 in game one of Sunday's doubleheader, following by a 17-12 victory in game two. The Falcons took game one of the series on Saturday afternoon by a 10-6 score line.

In game One the Falcons were paced offensively by Kyle Anulao. The leadoff man finished the day 3-for-4 at the plate with scoring a pair of runs and driving in another. Sam Schroeder also contributed as he collected two hits (2-for-2) and walk while scoring one and driving in a third Fisher run. 

The Falcons managed ten runs on just eight hits but benefits from five walks surrendered by PSU pitching.

Senior Grayson Weber earned the game one victory for Fisher after throw 6.0 innings. The right-hander kept the Nittany Lions scoreless while allowing just five hits and one walk.  Weber fanned 11 PSU batters, the most he has collected in game since he managed 13 strikeouts on September 9th, 2015 against Rivier University when he had 13 k's.

Willy Lopez pitched a scoreless 7th inning to close out the victory for FC.

In Game two, the offense for both teams erupted as the two squads combined for 29 runs and 27 hits in Fisher's 17-12 win.

Anulao continued his presence at the dish, collecting another two hits in a 2-for-4 display. Anulao scored two runs and batted in a pair while also earning a walk. The Falcons also got multiple hits from Schroeder (2-for-3), Devin Perry (2-for-3), and Cody Mercier (2-for-3). Xavier Feliz contributed a game-high six runs batted in while going 3-for-5 in the nightcap.

On the mound Yamil Delgado earned his first career victory in relief of starter Amauris Santana. Santana went the first 4 and 2/3 innings allowing eight runs (six earned) on six hits and two walks. The senior managed five strikeouts in his first start of the season.

Delgado went a 1 and 1/3 scoreless innings to give the Falcons their 7th win of the season.  Delgado fanned two while allowing one a walk in his season's first appearance on the mound.

Fisher returns to action next Thursday when they host Fitchburg State University in their final tune up before them embark on their 10 game spring break trip to Ohio, Tennessee and South Carolina. Thursday's 1st pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Massachusetts.
