Falcons Drop Opener of Al Oliver Classic to Indiana Tech, 3-0

Portsmouth, OHIO – The Falcons dropped the first game of their annual spring break trip at the hands of Indiana Tech, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Branch Rickey Park.  Competing in the Al Oliver Classic, hosted by Shawnee State University, the Falcons have three more games in Portsmouth before continuing their road trip at Milligan College in Tennessee.

Fisher (7-2) and Indiana Tech (8-1) were scoreless for the first five innings before Tech managed to push across all three of their runs in the top of the six inning.  The Falcons got a strong outing on the mound from senior Brian Rosa despite the right-hander suffering the loss.  Rosa went 5.0 innings allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk.  The New York native collected six strikeouts on the afternoon but fell in 1-1 on the season.

Offensively the Falcons managed just three hits in the game. Kyle Anulao (2-for-3) continued his strong offensive start to the season.  Senior Devin Perry (1-for-3) collected a other Falcon base knock.

These two teams return to action Sunday afternoon against each other with first pitch scheduled for 3:00pm. Senior Amauris Santana is expected to get the start for the Falcons.
