Falcons Clipped By Shawnee State in All Oliver Classic Finale

Portsmouth, OHIO -- Fisher dropped the final game of the Al Oliver Classic in convincing fashion with a 12-4 defeat to the hands of Shawnee State University Monday evening at Branch Rickey Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.  With the loss the Falcons fall to 8-4 on the season.

Sophomore Matthew Trotta got his first career start for the Falcons but lasted just two innings. The lefthander allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk while managing just one strikeout in the outing.

The Falcons used seven different pitchers in the contest that saw Shawnee State collect 12 runs on 13 hits and five walks.

Offensively, The Falcons got multy-hit efforts fom Haydel Alciea and Ben Wright. Wright's 2-for-2 effort comes in his first career start.

Cody Mercier, Xavier Feliz, and Angel Perez Vargas collected their other three hits the Falcons managed the nightcap of their split doubleheader.

The Falcons continue their 10 game road trip when they travel to Milligan College in Tennessee. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm between the two squads.
