Falcons Defeat Curry in Walk-Off Fashion

Lynn, MA – Devin Perry (2-for-6) beat on an infield single to 3rd to drive in Xavier Feliz (0-for-2) to propel the Falcons to a 7-6 walk off win in the 12th inning over Curry College Wednesday afternoon at Fraser Field. With the victory the Falcons improve to 11-13 on the season while Curry drops to 5-9.

The Falcons jumped over to an impressive 6-0 after just one inning of play.  Curry's Vincent Lopriore lasted just 2/3 innings after allowing six earned runs on four hits and four walks.

Fisher's Reinaldo Moreta (2-for-6) opened the scoring with a two run single before Adam Lucey (2-for-6) following up with an RBI single of his own. An Andres Ruiz (1-for-4) single and Nelson Lopez (1-for-5) walk earned Fisher their 4th and 5th runs before Ruiz scored when Kyle Anulao (0-for-2) was hit by a pitch.

The teams went scoreless for the next three innings until Curry began is comeback in the 5th inning. John Arens (2-for-6) singled to right field to plate Ben Lary (2-for-5) and William Da Le Cruz (0-for-4) to Fisher's at to 6-2.  Curry then added four runs in the 6th inning on and RBI single Lary, a 2 run double by Arens and a wild pitch.

With the score locked at 6-6 the game moved to extra innings. Each team threaten in the 10th with Curry leaving a runner on 3rd base while Fisher left the bases loaded.

Redshirt freshman Ben Wright (1-for-1) led off the 12th inning with an infield single but was forced out a Feliz's failed sacrifice bunt attempt. Nelson Lopez was able to move Feliz to 2nd on a ground out to 2nd and a balk move Feliz to within 90 feet

Perry's chopper to 3rd was just slow enough as he beat out the grounder for his 2nd hit of the afternoon.

Matthew Trotta earned the victory for the Falcons after pitching 7 innings in relief. The southpaw allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out eight. 

The game was the first of two for the Falcons. They host Rivier University in the nightcap of the split doubleheader.
