Fisher Drops Twin Bill to CSJ

Lynn, MA -- The Fisher Falcons dropped games two and three of the five game series to College of St. Joseph's in Vermont Saturday evening at Fraser Field in Lynn, Massachusetts. The Falcons fell in game one 14-1 before dropping the nightcap 2-1.

Game One

Senior Grayson Weber took the loss on the mound for the Falcons after going 5 and 2/3 innings. The right-hander allowed five runs on seven hits and five walks but managed five strikeouts in the outing.

Offensively Fisher collected just one hit, a double by sophomore Cody Mericer.

Game Two

Saturday's nightcap was a much closer contest but CSJ was able to hold on to victory. CSJ scored two runs in the top of the 4th inning to claim a 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 7th. The Falcons pushed across a run in the 7th on a Cody Mercier RBI double that scored Reinaldo Moreta but the game ended when Mercier attempted to steal 3rd.

Amauris Santana suffered to the loss depsite a strong pitching performance. Santana threw a complete game six hitter and allowed just two runs and three walks. The right-hander recorded five strikeouts.

Offensively the Falcons were slightly better than game one, collecting three hits. Reinaldo Morettaa and Andres Ruiz each had singles to add to Mericer's double.

With doubleheader loss moves the Falcons record to 11-19 on the season. The five game series with CSJ concludes Sunday when they teams square off in a 12:00 pm doubleheader.
