Falcons Drop Second Game in Tournament

Lawrenceville, Georgia -- The Fisher College dropped their second game of the A.I.I. Conference Tournament to the College of the Ozarks by a score of 8-4.  It was a late effort by the Bobcats to ensure the victory over the Falcons.

The game started the way their game against Georgia Gwinnett College, the Falcons scored one run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead over the Bobcats of the College of the Ozarks.  Fisher held on to their 1-run lead until the top of the 4th inning when two doubles, a stolen base, and a pass ball plate two Bobcats to give them the 2-1 lead over the Falcons.

The score remained 2-1 for a couple of inning, but the College of the Ozarks added three runs in the top of the 3rd inning.  Bobcats' offense scored the three runs off four hits and one Falcon error to take a 5-1 lead.  

Fisher slowly chipped away in the bottom of the 7th and 8th innings to bring the score to 5-4.  In the 7th inning, Andres Ruiz singles to centerfield with two outs and was pitchrun for by Jean Carlos Figueroa.  Nelson Lopez reached base on a bobbled ball and Figueroa advanced to second.  Kyle Anulao singled to left field scoring Figueroa and advancing Lopez to second.  The Falcons could only push across the 1-run in the inning.

In the 8th inning, the Falcons held the Bobcats, but scored two runs in the bottom half of the frame.  Xavier Feliz singled to left field with two outs.  Ben Wright pinch-hit for Haydell Alicea hitting a single to right field.  Feliz had stolen second before the hit and advanced to third on the hit.  Joey LaRocca singled to shallow right scoring Feliz, moving Figueroa (pinch runner for Wright) to third, forcing a pitching change.  Figueroa scored on a pass ball moving LaRocca to second with two outs.  Ruiz grounded out to end the inning, but not bringing the game back to a 1-run game (5-4).

The top of the 9th killed the Falcons when the Bobcats scored three runs to take an 8-4 lead over Fisher.  After five hits and three runs, Fisher ended the inning and headed to the plate for their final chance.  The Bobcats got the Falcons to go down 1-2-3 to finalize the game with the Bobcats defeating the Falcons 8-4.
