Schroeder Named to All-Tournament Team

Boston -- Junior firstbaseman Sam Schroeder was announced to the All-Tournament Team after the conclusion of the A.I.I. Conference tournament on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.  Although the Falcons were knocked to the losers bracket after the first game and knocked out shortly after, Schroeder had a stellar performance in their two games.

On Saturday, May 7 against the number one ranked Georgia Gwinnett, Schroeder in five total at bats went 2-for-3 reaching base four times.  He had two singles and reached twice after being hit by a pitch which in turn pushed Schroeder across the plate once.  Sunday afternoon was a little different with Schroeder going 1-for-4 with a single.  He had reached base twice with a strike out and an error by the catcher to put him on first and eventually score the Falcons first run of the game.  Over the two games, Schroeder had 17 putouts at first base and one assist.
