Fighting Saints Hold off Falcons 4-0

(LYNN, MA) - The College of Saint Joseph's Fighting Saints held off the Fisher College Falcons 4-0 in conference play at Fraser Field this evening.  The top half of the third inning saw some untimely errors by the Falcons defense and some timely hitting by the Saints offense which put up four runs.  This proved to be the only scoring on the night.

Falcons SP Yamil Delgado suffered the loss on the night tossing seven inning of work.  Delgado gave up four runs (2ER) on seven hits (all singles) only one walk and three strikeouts on the night.  Lefty reliever Jose Galan came into the game in the top of the eighth inning, throwing two scoreless innings giving up one hit and one walk.

The Falcons offense had opportunities to score in the first, third, fifth innings as the leadoff hitters all got on base but never crossed the plate as the Falcons left five men in scoring position those three innings.  Freshman C Reynaldo Mejia led the offense going 2-3 and Jonathan Rosado also chipped in with a double.

The loss brings the Falcons record to 23-17 on the season, while the Fighting Saints improve to 10-26 on the season.
