Falcons win back to back games for first time this season

It went to the wire but Fisher was able to make two straight American Mideast Conference wins as they beat Wilberforce University 74-72 Saturday night in Lynn, MA.

Ronald Hightower had his putback attempt fall short as the buzzer sounded to give the Falcons the hard fought victory. The game was tight throughout but the Falcons were able to knock down timely shots and clutch free throws the preserve their fifth victory of the season.

Fisher was led by reigning American Mideast Conference Player of the Week Dennis Norford with 28 points on 11-21 shooting.  Norford who is 3rd in the nation in rebounding also had a game-high 12 rebounds to go with four assists.

Fisher also got a strong effort from junior Ryan McCorkle who added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Point Guard Kyle Murphy had a team high seven assists to go along with seven rebounds and six points.

The Bulldogs were paced by Chris Olafioye's 26 points.  Ronald Hightower had a double-double, 10 points and 10 rebounds.

This was the second conference win in a row for Fisher who upended Houghton College last Saturday 77-71. 

The Falcons return to action Sunday when they host Berkeley College out of NY.  The game is scheduled for a noon tip-off.
