Falcon tip Knights, 74-72, earn third win in a row

The Falcons made it three wins in a row in tight fashion as they held off visitors Berkeley College 74-71 to improve to 6-16. The Falcons finish a week that saw them go 3-0 and will take on SUNY- Canton Wednesday night as they look for four in a row.

The game was tight throughout, with 9 different lead changes. Berkeley led 37-34 at the half but the Falcons were able to quickly tie in up before outscoring the Knights 43-37 in the second 20 minutes to preserve the hard fought win.

The Falcons were led by senior Dennis Norford who had 18 points and 13 rebounds. During their three game winning streak Norford has averaged 22.6 points and 13 rebounds a game. 

Fisher also got huge contributions from Ryan McCorkle, 15 points, and Zack Pope, 12 points, including 2 clutch three-pointers.

Guard Kyle Murphy did a great job controlling the pace of the game and finished with 9 points and 7 assists.

The visiting Knights were led by center Eligah Craig's 12 point 14 rebound effort. Kaseem Williams led all scores with 19 points.

Fisher outshot their non-conference opponent 52 percent to 40 percent and won the turnover battle 21 to 19. The 19 Berkeley turnovers led to 20 Fisher points.

The Falcons were out rebounded 44-30 and gave up 27 second chance points.

Fisher will look to make it four in a row when they host SUNY-Canton this Wednsday at 7pm.
