RPI Cruises Past Fisher, 91-73

Brendan Farley had 31 points and the RPI Engineers eased to a 91-73 non-conference win today over Fisher College at Fectau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, MA.  With the win RPI improved to 5-3 on the year while Fisher dropped to 4-7. The loss was Fisher's six straight.

The Falcons were paced by Ryan McCorkle who had a team high 20 points.  McCorkle also had nine rebounds.

RPI took a 46-42 lead into the break.  RPI used a quick strike offense to gain its advantage.  RPI's Tyler Gendron led all scorers at the break with 14 points on 5-9 shooting, including 3-7 from behind the arc.  RPI's size and length was giving the Falcons some difficulty throughout the game. Fisher had a 55-53  rebounding advantage but it was RPI's Daniel Martin's 13 rebounds, 10 of which were offensive, which provided the difference for the Engineers. 

Midway through the 1st half the Falcons managed to cut the lead to six but couldn't manage to overtake the Engineers. RPI used the three point shot effectively to control each of Fisher's late runs.  RPI finished 13-42 from behind the arc while Fisher only knocked down 6 of 22.

RPI had 15 different players see the floor while 12 of which found the score sheet. Tyler Gendron was the only other Engineer with double figures, ending the afternoon with 20 points. 

The Flacons had three players in double figures on the day. Tyler Shular and Sam Nwadike joined McCorkle in double figures with 14 points and 10 points, respectively.

The Falcons have a quick turnaround as the will square off against former Sunrise Conference rival SUNY-Canton just 22 hours after the completion of today's game.  Tomorrow's game, scheduled for 2PM tip-off is part of a Men's and Women's doubleheader.
