Fisher Loses to UTPA, 95-49

EDINBURG – Four Broncs reached double-figures in scoring to propel the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men's basketball team to a 95-49 victory over the Fisher College Falcons on Saturday at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

Justin Leathers and Jamal Dantzler led the Broncs (9-10) with 15 points each. Leathers did so on a career-best 6-of-6 shooting, with five rebounds (three offensive) and a career-high tying three steals. Dantzler more than doubled his previous career-high in scoring (seven) on 6-of-10 shooting, including a career-high 3-of-5 shooting from behind the arc, while dishing out a career-high four assists. Brandon Provost scored 12 points while going 4-for-6 from behind the arc. Hurley Johnson scored 11 points while hitting a career-high three three-pointers.

Ryan McCorkle led the Falcons (6-13) with 10 points.

Each of the Broncs' five starters, Aaron Urbanus, Leathers, Jesus Delgado, Provost and Lauri Toivonen made a basket as the Broncs jumped out to an 11-2 lead. After the Falcons scored the next four points to pull within five, Dantzler hit three layups and a three-pointer in less than three minutes as part of a 14-0 run that saw the Broncs go up 25-6.

The Broncs kept their lead in double-figures for the rest of the game. The Broncs took their largest lead with 38 seconds left when Leathers hit a three to make it a 47-point game at 95-48.
