Falcons dealt a loss to Concordia University Texas. 55-64

Austin, Texas – Dwayne Patterson recorded his sixth consecutive double-double in leading the Concordia University Texas men's basketball team to an 88-64 win over Fisher College on Sunday, Jan. 13 at the CTX Field House. The Tornados led from wire-to-wire and have now won 10 of their last 11 games.

Patterson, who finished the first half with 17 points and nine boards, scored the game's first five points by finishing a 3-point play the old-fashioned way and finishing a pass from Josh Sanchez. Fisher College came back and made it 12-11 on a layup by Tyler Radicioni, but the Tornados responded with an 8-1 run and went ahead 20-12 at the midway point by getting a 3-pointer from Larry Durand.

Concordia held off several other small Falcon runs and scored the last eight points of the frame to take a 49-32 lead into the locker room. Haynes hit a buzzer-beating layup to end the period shortly after Brett DeMetrotion sank one of two free throws.

Fisher College closed the gap to 15 points twice in the opening minutes of the second frame, but that was as close as it would come the rest of the way. Sanchez scored five straight points to extend the Tornado lead to 22 points before DeMetrotion made it 70-40 at the 10:48 mark with a good jumper from Terry Corprew. Patterson then gave Concordia a 77-44 advantage and its largest lead of the game with 9:15 remaining by canning a trifecta, creating a deficit that was too much for the Falcons to overcome.

Patterson registered 24 points and 16 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end, to pace Concordia. He also finished with four assists and one steal. Durand and Sanchez posted with 13 and 12 points, respectively, while  Jared Galvan contributed 10 points, four rebounds and three steals off the bench.

Fisher College (6-13), which is based out of Boston and competes at the NAIA level, was led by Kyle Murphy's 21-point effort. He shot 7-for-9 from the field, including 3-for-4 from long range, and 4-for-6 from the line. Sam Nwadke had 17 points and five rebounds, while McCorkle ended the game with 11 points and six boards
