Falcons fall to Daemen, 96-82

BOSTON, MA-Fisher's men's basketball team (6-15) lost a home matchup versus Daemen College of New York (21-5), 96-82.

Daemen started the game on a 22-8 offensive outburst against the Falcons, but Fisher was able to cut down the lead by a few baskets with Senior Ryan McCorkie (Bellevue, Wa) scoring the final six points of the half for Fisher. At the end of the first half, Daemen led by a score of 53-34. Daemen made 45 percent of their pointers that they attempted in the first half to go with 64 percent from the field, while Fisher shot 18 percent from three-point area and 45 percent from the floor.

Daemen was led by Casey Sheehan who had 11 points and a game-high four assists. Daemen's Jim Regan led all scorers in the game with 14 points. Fisher was lead by McCorkie's 13 points. The Falcons' Kyle Murphy (Jr., Orlando, Fl) made the only two threes for the team in the first half, leading him to score 12 points in the first half.

The second half was a back and forth battle between the two teams with Fisher cutting the lead to as low as 14.Daemen ended the game shooting almost 57 percent from the field compared to 47 percent for the Falcons.

Three players scored double digits for the Falcons including Sophomore Sam Nwadike (Houston, Tx) with 14 points to go with McCorkie's team-high 24 points and Kyle Murphy's 20 points. Nwadike added team-highs in rebounds (7) and assists (6). Daemen also had three players in double digits including the game's scoring leader, Jim Regan who had 23 points. The other two Daemen players that added double digits in points were Sheehan (13) and Kadeem Johnson (16).

The Falcons will now travel to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on January 26, 2013 with tip-off at 3:00 pm.
