Falcons lose tough one to Vermont Tech, 81-76

Boston,MA-The Falcons of Fisher College faced off against Vermont Tech College Knights Wednesday evening at Fectau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Fisher was able to jump out to a 10-2 lead to start the game. The rest of the first half was a back and forth battle between the two teams. The Falcons led the game at halftime by a score of 37-28. Falcons' Juwann Harris and Knights' Jamal Hughes (Junior/Anchorage, AK) tied for the game-high in rebounds at half with 5. At half time, Hughes led all scores at half with 15 points while Ernest McNeil (Junior/Boston, MA) led Fisher with 8 points.

Vermont Tech was able to overcome the nine point deficit in the second half by outscoring the Falcons 53-39. The Knights took the lead for good with 08:53 left in the second half when Rashad Powery-Saunds scored on a lay-up to make the score 53-52. Hughes finished the game for the Knights with game-highs in points (34) and rebounds (12). The Falcons had two scorers in double digits with 11 points by Orlando Zayas (Junior/Boston, MA) and 10 points by Tyler Shular (Sophomore/Norwalk, CT). The final score was 81-76 in favor of Vermont Tech.

The Falcons will travel to Fort Kent, Maine on Saturday November 9th when they play University of Maine-Fort Kent, start time of the game is 2:00 PM.
