Falcons Advance in Colby College Classic

Waterville, ME -- The Fisher Falcons swept aside the University of Maine - Presque Isle Owls, 93-77, in game one of the Colby College Classic to advance to Sunday's champshionship game vs. Colby College.

The Falcons led 53-40 at the breark, with UMPI unable to stop the Falcons leading scorer, Tyler Shular, who registered 18 of his game high 28 in the first stanza. Shular, a 6'3 sophomore, missed only one first half shot and had already put home three 3 pointers in the first 20 minutes of play.

UMPI scored the first 7 points of the second half to cut the lead to 53-47 at the 17:30 mark, but Shular would knock down his fourth 3 pointer of the game to start a 24-9 run that would put the game away for the Fisher Falcons.

UMPI's backcourt finished strong with Chase Vicaire sharing the team high scoring mark with reserve freshman Sean Manganti, as each tallied 19 and sophomore point guard Derek Healy added 17, with 3 assists and 4 steals.

Fisher is now 4-4 and next plays in the championship game Sunday against College. UMPI (2-2) will play UM-Fort Kent in the first game of the Sunday session at the Tournament at 2pm.
