Falcons win overtime thriller, 85-78

LYNN,MA- The Falcons of Fisher College was able to win in overtime in a Sunday afternoon matchup at home versus visiting Albany Pharmacy.

The Falcons got off to a quick lead to starting the game on a 14-2 run which featured seven early points for sophomore Tyler Shular. Albany Pharmacy was able to shake off their rust with a 12-0 run to tie the game at 14 apiece. The rest of the first half included back and forth buckets by both teams. At halftime, the Falcons led Albany Pharmacy by a score of 37-33.

In the second half, Fisher was able to push their lead up to as much as ten points with ten minutes left in the game before Albany Pharmacy stormed back. Albany Pharmacy took their first lead in the second half with just four minutes left. With 1:52 left in the game the Falcons were able to tie the game to send it into overtime with an junior Earnest McNeil put back layup.

Fisher was able to outscore Albany Pharmacy fifteen to seven in the five minute overtime to secure the win. Three different Falcon players scored four points apiece. Fisher was led by Earnest McNeil double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. Other double-digits scorers for the Falcons included Shular (18), junior Orlando Zayas (16), junior Ira Haywood (11), and junior Chris Green (17).

Albany Pharmacy was lead by a game-high 30 points from Casey Redfern. John Tremblay added 22 points while Ryan McVaigh scored 11 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

The Falcons will travel to Framingham St. on Tuesday December 10th with a start time of 6:00 PM.
