Falcons roll over MMA, 90-53

NORTON, Mass. -- Maine Maritime men's basketball team dropped a 90-53 decision to Fisher in the consolation game of the Wheaton College Tip-Off Tournament Saturday. The Mariners dropped to 0-2, while Fisher improved to 3-3.

Tyler Gilson came off the bench to lead Maine Maritime with 12 points and a game-high seven rebounds. Kyle Bocuher added points and six rebounds and Garrett LibbyTyler Chiasson and Dylan Stevens each posted six points for the Mariners.

Tyler Shular scored a game-high 25 points for Fisher and Chris Green added 16. 

Fisher jumped out to a 26-2 lead before Maine Maritime used an 8-5 scoring run to make it 31-10 after a pair of David Breuig free throws. A Green three at 3:33 put Fisher ahead 43-15. Trailing 54-19 late in the first half, Logan Poirier and Chiasson made consecutive jump shot to make it 54-23 at the break.

The second half was fairly even with Fisher outscoring Maine Maritime 36-30. After a Kyle Holmes layup put Fisher ahead 77-32 with nine minutes left, the Mariners closed out thegame with a 21-13 scoring run led by Boucher's eight points.
