Falcons Soar Past Crusaders with a 62-46 Victory

Lynn, MA - The Fisher College Falcons (1-0) opened the season against Madonna University Crusaders (0-1) with a 62-46 win Saturday afternoon at Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, MA.

Fisher jumped to an early 7-2 lead at the 18:00 mark on a layup made by Onesimus Moore (Houston, TX).  The Crusaders put up a fight and took the lead with a score of 17-16 at the 9:43 mark with a good layup made by Donald Owens. The Falcons took the lead back and head into half time leading 32-25.

Fisher was paced in the first half by Tyler Shular (Norwalk, CT) and Geodice Ortiz (Denver, CO). Shular had 12 points and three rebounds while Ortiz had seven points and five rebounds. 

Madonna's Tyler Stewart and Khalil Malone were leading scorers for the visitors in the first half.  

The Falcons kept the lead for the second half, winning the game 62-46. Madonna's Malone, Stewart, and Owens all scored double-digit points.  

Shular lead the Falcons with 25 points and five rebounds. Other key players were Ortiz (7 points, 9 rebounds), Moore (7 points), and Chris Green (6 points) (Middle Island, NY).  

Fisher College will return to action November 4 when they hit the road for an exhibition game at Southern New Hampshire University with a 7:00 pm tip off.
