Men’s Basketball Fall to Baldwin Wallace 84-67

Boston, MA – The Falcons of Fisher College drop a non-conference matchup to Baldwin Wallace University by a score of 84-67. Fisher moves to 11-4 on the season while Baldwin Wallace improves to 8-4.

The Yellow Jackets started the game off with a 17-2 lead over the Falcons when Justin Roth hit a three pointer. Ira Haywood (Las Vegas, NV) and

Kyle Holmes (Hamden, CT) both hit shots for the Falcons to decrease the Yellow Jacket lead. Brandon Gleim hit a jumper to give Baldwin Wallace a 19-6 lead. OJ Moore (Houston, TX) hit a layup to cut the lead to 11, 19-8. Gleim it a three pointer to give the Yellow Jackets a 22-8 lead. Jonas Rusom (Hasselby, Sweden) came off the bench and hit a three pointer to put the Falcons back within 11. 

Matt Dennis hit a layup to increase the Yellow Jacket's lead to 17. The Falcons then hit nine free throws to change the score to 37-24. With time running down in the first half, the Falcons squeezed out six more points. As the clock hit zero, Cameron Kuhn hit a three pointer to finalize the first half score at 47-30 in Baldwin Wallace favor.

Roth lit the way for the Yellow Jackets scoring 18 points and two rebounds. Gleim and Jaron Crowe were other contributors to the first half with eight points a-piece.

Tyler Shular (Norwalk, CT) managed 11 points in the first half for the Falcons. Moore also contributed to the Falcons' 30 points in the first half, scoring six points. Haywood and Holmes both had four points heading into half time. 

Fisher went on a nine-point run to open the second half, cutting the Baldwin Wallace lead to eight. Shots were hit by both teams, but not enough for the Falcons to take the lead. With 9:41 left on the clock, Shular hit a three pointer to put the Falcons within five, 57-52. Baldwin Wallace continued to dominate the Falcons in the second half and finalized the score at 84-67.

Roth led the Yellow Jackets to their victory with 20 points and two rebounds. Kuhn (19 points, three rebounds) and Gleim (14 points, one rebound) also contributed to the victory.

Shular and Moore both hit double digits, but it wasn't enough to pull out the victory. Shular scored 18 points and grabbed six boards, while Moore had 15 points.

Fisher College returns to action tomorrow at 7:00 pm taking on Worcester State University in the second of two games at the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, MA.
