Fisher Soars Passed Daniel Webster 100-67

Boston, MA – The Fisher College Falcons soared to a 100-67 win over the Daniel Webster Eagles in a non-conference match-up Sunday afternoon. Fisher improves to 18-5 with the victory and the Eagles drop to 6-12 on the season.

Although Fisher won the tip-off, Daniel Webster took a quick 2-0 lead over the Falcons. OJ Moore (Houston, TX) knotted the game at two with a sunken jumper. Darrell Grady (Staten Island, NY) then put the Falcons up 4-2 over the Eagles. Ryan Gauthier put the Eagles back up 6-4 with a made jump shot. Fisher then went on a 10-2 run with Tyler Shular (Norwalk, CT) scoring all 10 points in a little over a minute.

Daniel Webster managed to pull within three points with 15:05 left on the clock in the first half, 14-11 Falcons. Chris Green (Middle Island, NY) and Moore hit back-to-back three-pointers to put the Falcons up 20-13 with just over 14 minutes left in the half. Fisher went on a 12-5 run to put the Falcons up 32-20. The Falcons then went and took their biggest lead of 24 in the first half when Shular hit a three-pointer with 23 seconds left on the clock, putting the Falcons up 57-33. The clock expired before the Eagles could rebuttal and the half time score froze at 57-33.

Shular sparked the fire for the Falcons, scoring 19 points in the first half and grabbing two rebounds. Moore was another key Falcon in the first half with 14 points and three rebounds. Brandon Robinson (Fort Washington, MD) was another key Falcon, assisting his teammates seven times while also scoring two points himself and grabbing two rebounds.

Michael Campbell led the way for the Eagles, scoring 16 points while grabbing four rebounds in the half. Angelo Adon was another key Eagle in the first half, scoring 11 points.

Fisher continued to press Daniel Webster the first four minutes into the second half, but Daniel Webster managed to go on a 6-4 run to bring the score to 61-39, still in Fisher's favor. The Falcons then went on a 16-6 run to seal their victory, bringing the score to 77-42 with 10:25 left in the game. Adon and Campbell combined for 11 points to help the Eagles, but the Falcons led by 35 points, 88-35, with 5:45 left in the game. The last minutes resulted in a 12-11 run by the Eagles, but time expired and the Falcons were victorious with a 100-67 win.

Shular finished the game for the Falcons scoring 27 points and rebounding seven shots to help Fisher to their win. Moore put up 19 points while grabbing seven rebounds as well. Other key Falcons were Jameel Yousif (Chicago, IL) (12 points, two rebounds), Kyle Holmes (Hamden, CT) (12 points, one rebound), and Robinson with eight assists.

Despite the loss, Adon scored 24 points for the Eagles while grabbing three rebounds on the afternoon. Campbell was a key player for the Eagles with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Gauthier was another key player for Daniel Webster with 13 points and five rebounds in the loss.

Daniel Webster College returns to action on Tuesday, February 3, when they play host to Elms College at 7:30 pm. Fisher College returns to action Wednesday, February 4, in the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, MA, when they play host to Pine Manor College at 7:00 pm.
