Grady, Holmes, and Pennington Lead Falcons to 106-61 Victory

Lynn, Mass. -- The Fisher College men's basketball team opened the season with a 106-61 victory of the College of Saint Joseph's on the evening of Friday, November 11. The Falcons improve to 1-0 while the Saints of CSJ drop to 1-2.

Fisher dominated the entire game going up 19-0 with 6:00 played.  CSJ got on the board when Kyle Houston hit a jumper for the Saints.  Senior Kyle Holmes then hit a 3-pointer to give the Falcons a 22-2 lead over the Saints. 

Slowly CSJ added some points to the board, but the Falcons' offense was on fire.  At the half-time mark, Fisher was up 59-29 over the Saints.  Holmes was leading Fisher's scoring with 21 points along with Darrell Grady who had 11 points.

After the break, the Saints put a jump in their offense going on a 13-3 run over the Falcons.  The Falcons halted CSJ's run when Roger Hamel received a foul call and stepped to the line for two shots, netting both.  Hamel's foul sparked a 9-point run for the Falcons to put them 71-42 over the Saints.

In the last 14-minutes, Fisher College dominated scoring 35 points while CSJ mustered up 19 points.

Six Falcons scored in the double digits during the victory.  Holmes led with 23 points and Grady follwed with 20 points for Fisher.  Other key players were De'Andre Pennington with a double-double (18 points, 16 rebounds), Hamel and Kiezhan Hester (11 points a-piece), and Cooper Neal with a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds).

The Falcons will return to action on Tuesday, November 15 when they travel to the Peter Jay Sharpe Center in Riverdale, New York to take on the College of Mount Saint Vincent.  Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
