Falcons steal victory from Knights in overtime

Randolph Center, Vt. -- The Fisher College men's basketball team improved to 9-7 after their overtime victory against the Vermont Technical College (VTC) Knights.  The Falcons took the non-conference mid-week game 79-68 over the Knights.

Senior guard Kyle Holmes dominated with a game high 25 points for the Falcons.  Fisher took a quick 11-2 lead, but the Knights were able to knot the game at 13-13 with only six minutes played in the game.  A VTC player netted a 3-point shot to take the lead 16-13 over the Falcons.  

The Knights held a lead until Darrell Grady made a layup to go up 30-29 over the Knights.  VTC held a 35-33 lead over the Falcons heading into the break.

Coming out of the break, the Falcons scored first, but VTC was able to take a 10-point lead over the Falcons to lead 50-40 with 12:11 on the clock.  The Falcons were able to outscore the Knights 30-28 in the second half completing the game with a 63-63 draw.

Fisher tallied 16 points in overtime while holding VTC to five points to give the Falcons the victory.  Malik Wilson and Holmes led the Falcons in the extra period with five points a piece.

Wilson tallied a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards while Holmes led the game with 25 points grabbing five boards.  Cooper Neal added 13 points offensively for the Falcons and grabbing two rebounds.  Grady was another key player for the Falcons adding 6 points and grabbing 13 boards.
