PROVIDENCE, RI. – The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team had several chances to complete a last-minute comeback against Fisher but couldn't come through in crunch time. The Wildcats dropped 70-66 decision to the Falcons on Wednesday.

Fisher: 20-8
Johnson & Wales: 14-10

Of Note:
Fisher built a 67-61 lead with 3:36 left in the game. Freshmen Israel Johnson (Southampton, NY) and Elijah Lewis (Bridgeport, Conn.) hit back-to-back baskets to pull the Wildcats within 67-66 one minute later. Unfortunately, the Wildcats missed their last four shots and committed two turnovers down the stretch.

Lewis produced the first double-double of his collegiate career with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Rookie Marad Banks (Newark, NJ) came off the bench to record a career-high 18 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals. Matt Madoian (North Kingstown, RI) was the third Wildcat in double figures with 16 points.  

Malik Wilson had a game-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double. He was followed by Kyle Holmes with 16 points and Darrell Grady chipped in 10.

Both teams shot 34 percent from the floor and the Wildcats made two more 3-pointers than the Falcons. The difference in the game was the free throw line where Fisher was 21-29 (72.4 percent) while JWU went 7-13 (53.8 percent). The Falcons were 15-20 at the charity stripe in the second half.
