Second Half Power Pushes Broncos Past Falcons

Lynn, Mass. – The Fisher College men's basketball team drops to 6-14 on the season after dropping an NIAC Conference matchup with SUNY Delhi.  Delhi improves to 12-10 with their 92-74 victory over the Falcons.

The Broncos quickly went ahead 4-0 after winning the tip-off.  Brandon Rembert put the Falcons on the board with a made layup.  Delhi went on an 8-2 run to take a 12-4 lead over the Falcons forcing the host to take a 30-second timeout. 

Saquan Goland put the Broncos up by 13-points (37-24) with 5:57 left on the clock before the break.  Rembert put up four points followed by Anthony Kellum who added four to close the gap to two points (39-37) in favor of the Broncos with just seconds on the clock.  Malik Tavares took a pass from Rembert and put the shot up from behind the arc to end the first half with a 40-39 lead over Delhi.

Fisher started the second half off in charge, but quickly fell behind and unable to catch the Broncos.  SUNY Delhi outscored the Falcons 53-34 in the second half to earn the 92-74 victory over the Falcons.

Payton Dean led the Broncos with a game-high 22 points while teammate Jordan Fragale earned a double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds) in the team's victory.

Kellum paced the Falcons with 21 points of which 15 points came from behind the arc and grabbing three boards.  Rembert (12 points, 4 rebounds), Tavares (9 points, 3 rebounds), and Yacoub (9 points, 3 rebounds) were additional key players for the Falcons in their loss.

Fisher will have a few days to regroup before playing host to MCLA on Saturday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Mass.
