Lynn, Mass. – Junior guard Kyle Snowden powered the Falcons with a double-double against MCLA on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons took a 91-73 victory from the Trailblazers to improve their season record to 7-14 while MCLA drops to 5-10.
Senior DeAndre Pennington hit back-to-back shots for the Falcons to put them up 4-0 over MCLA. Fisher added another 12 points in less than two minutes to take a 16-0 lead over the Trailblazers. Tanner Owens hit a jumper for MCLA to put them on the board for the first time in the game, 16-2.
Fisher stretched the lead to 22-points when Malik Tavares hit a layup, putting the Falcons up 33-11. Mena Yacoub hit a 3-pointer with 3:46 left in the first half, giving the Falcons a 45-21 edge over the Trailblazers. MCLA went on a 9-5 run to close out the half still trailing Fisher 50-32.
The Trailblazers started the second half on fire, as they went on an 8-point run to slash the Falcons lead to 50-38. Pennington netted a 3-pointer for the first shot of the half for the Falcons, 53-38. Malik Selden was able to push the Falcons back ahead by 18-points after netting a layup on a steal by Jamontay Thompson.
Keiland Cross cut the Trailblazers deficit to 13-points with just 4:53 left to play in the game, 77-64. Fisher collectively added 14-points in the remaining moments of the game to close out the NCAA-NAIA cross matchup with a 91-73 victory.
Snowden earned the lone double-double of the game with 12 points and 10 assists while playing 30 minutes. Thompson and Pennington offensively led the charge with 17 points apiece while grabbing 13 rebounds collectively. Seldon (12 points), Anthony Kellum (10 points), and Joshua Graetz (10 points, 9 rebounds) also helped the Falcons offensively in the victory.
Noah Yearsley (17 points) and Joseph Wiggins (13 points, 4 rebounds) paced the way for the Trailblazers in the loss to the Falcons.
The Falcons will have a week to recover before heading to Fort Kent, Maine to take on the Bengals of the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Saturday, January 27.
