Falcons Dominate Hornets 108-79

Lyndonville, VT -- The Fisher College Men's basketball team faced off against Lyndon St. Hornets on November 15 in an NAIA-NCAA cross match-up. Fisher went into the game 2-2 on the season while the Hornets were just opening up their season.

 

The Hornets started the first half off with a 3-pointer from Zach Knowlton. The Falcons quickly countered back with a 12-0 run giving them a 12-3 lead on the Hornets. Knowlton hit another 3-pointer bringing the score to 16-8, but the Falcons quickly rallied off another 9-0 run giving them a 25-8 go ahead over the Hornets. The Hornets managed to climb their way back into the game with 5:48 left in the first half bringing the Falcons just six points ahead, 30-24. Going into Halftime the Falcons held a 50-42 lead.

 

The Falcons started the second half with a 19-5 run against Lyndon State breaking the once close game open. Halfway through the second half, the Falcons still had a commanding lead over the Hornets 81-59. The Hornets were never able to cut the Fisher lead to under double digits for the remainder of the game securing the Falcon 108-79 victory.

 

Falcons' senior Jamontay Thompson led all scorers with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Brandon Rembert added 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Anthony Kellum chipped in 16 points and Mena Yacoub added 15 points making five 3-pointers in the game.  Knowlton and Kevin Love added 11 points apiece for the Hornets in the loss.

 

The Falcons are set to matchup against the Bulldogs of Dean College on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.  Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Pieri Gymnasium in Franklin, Mass.
