Lynn, Mass. – Eleven of the twelve Falcons who stepped on the court against the University of Maine at Machias on Sunday afternoon contributed offensively towards their 94-53 victory. The Falcons improve their overall record to 9-16 while the Clippers drop to 10-15.
The Clippers won the tip, but Fisher got on the board first with two made free throw shots from DeAndre Pennington. Joshua Graetz made a layup to put the Falcons up 4-0. Travonne Thompson cut the Fisher lead in half with a layup of his own, 4-2. Graetz hit another layup along with two made shots by Brandon Rembert to give the Falcons a 10-2 advantage over the Clippers.
Fisher then went on a 9-0 run to take a 19-2 advantage over UMM with 13:43 remaining in the half. Jesse Gray hit a jumper for the Clippers to shorten the Falcons lead to 15, 19-4. The Falcons added 8-points before calling a timeout, 27-6 over the Clippers. After the timeout, the Falcons went on a 24-17 run to close out the first half holding a 51-23 advantage over UMM.
The Falcons dominated the first minutes of second half adding 12-points to their advantage over the Clippers, 63-23. With 14:25 left in the game, the Falcons held a 41-point lead over the Clippers. Sophomore Victor Casildo hit a jumper with senior Anthony Kellum following with a layup to extend the Falcons point differential to 45, 74-29. A 3-pointer made by freshman Daniel Perez with 0:37 seconds on the clock, finalized the game in favor of Fisher, 94-53.
Jamontay Thompson paced all Falcons with 17 points and 3 rebounds. Pennington added a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Kellum and Graetz added 14 points apiece, while Kyle Snowden added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Six additional Falcons combined for 26 points in the victory.
Dante Ramos led all scorers with a game-high 22 points while grabbing 5 rebounds for the Clippers. T. Thompson added 10 points in the loss to the Falcons.
Fisher will return to action when they head to Green Mountain College to take on the College of Saint Joseph in a rescheduled NIAC game on Thursday, February 8. The game was rescheduled from January 7 due to cold weather issues.
