JOHNSON, VT. – Senior Kyle Williams (Fairfield, Calif.) drained a step-back jumper with 0:01 second left as the Fisher College Men's Basketball team won their first game of the season in dramatic fashion, 95-93 over Northern Vermont University-Johnson. The win move the Falcons to 1-0 on the season while the Badgers fall to 0-3.

With the score tied at 93-93, a missed Falcons free throw allowed the Badgers to gain possession and immediately run down to the court to try to gain the final possession. However, the up-tempo allowed Williams to back pick the NVU-Johnson ball-handler and set the Falcons up for a game-winning opportunity. With 12.6 seconds left, first-year Fisher Head Coach Anthony Leonelli called a timeout to install the final play. Williams was able to crossover his defender and drive to the basket before laying it up and watching it bounce around the rim before touching the net with just one second remaining.

Williams finished the night with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor. Senior Jason Augliera (Discovery Bay, Calif.) registered the game-high of 28 points as he was lights out from beyond the arc. The 6-3 guard/forward connected on all nine of his made baskets from 3-point land finishing 9-for-12 and 9-for-13 from the floor. Senior Chris Lennear (Sacramento, Calif.) picked up 14 rebounds and 12 points for the Falcons' first double-double of the season and classmate Darnell White (Santa Cruz, Calif.) chipped in with 11 points and six assists off the bench for Fisher.

NVU-Johnson was led by the senior duo of Ayodeji Shokeye (Yonkers, N.Y.) and Robert Dubose Jr. (Philadelphia, Pa.), who each had 20+ points. Dubose finished with a double-double at 21 points and 11 rebounds while Shokeye was the team-leader with 23 points. Junior Phillip Lyttle (West Palm Beach, Fla.) contributed 15 points and four assists in a reserve effort while classmates Malik Moore (Washington, D.C.) and Samuel Stephens (Gaithersburg, Md.) also recorded double-digit nights with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

The Falcons are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday evening as they travel back to Northern Vermont with a 7pm tipoff at NVU-Lyndon. The Badgers will host the State University of New York – Canton on Friday, February 26 in their next scheduled contest.
