Men's Basketball: Falcons fall at D1 Sacred Heart

FAIRFIELD, CONN. – The Fisher College Men's Basketball team suffered a 109-49 defeat this evening on the road at NCAA Division I opponent, Sacred Heart University. The Falcons, who are playing three NCAA D1 teams this season, are now 0-4 on the season while the Pioneers even out their overall record at 2-2.

Senior Chris Lennear (Sacramento, Calif.) led the way for the Falcons as he finished with a team-high 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field while three rebounds. Junior Kyle Butler-Gaffney (Liverpool, N.Y.) ended his night with 14 points, five rebounds and four steals over his 24+ minutes of action. In total, 12 different Falcons touched the floor this evening, including freshman Giovanni De La Fuente (Buckeye, Ariz.) who finished with two points in the loss.

Sacred Heart was powered by the 26-point effort from senior Tyler Thomas (New Haven, Conn.). Thomas finished with six rebounds while going 10-for-18 from the field. Sophomore Nico Galette (Rahway, N.J.) and graduate-student Alex Watson (Marietta, Ga.) chipped in with 18 and 12 point nights, respectively, as Galette registered the games only double-double (18 rebounds).

Fisher will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Salve Regina University, a NCAA Division III opponent, down in Newport, Rhode Island. Game time is slated for 3pm. Sacred Heart will also return to the parquet on Saturday as they host cross-town foe Fairfield University at 8pm.
