Falcons Fall in Home Opener to UMFK

BOSTON, MA- University of Maine at Fort Kent's offense proved to be too much for Fisher College, winning 9-0. The scoring for the Bengals of University of Maine at Fort Kent started in the first minute when Ben Kluvers' (Freshman/Chicago, IL) shot hit the back of the net.  Senior Sebastian Arsenault (Mascouche, Quebec) scored UMFK's second goal in the 11th minute which was assisted by Kyle Robin (Freshman/Glasgow, Scotland). The Bengals added two more in the 12th and 13th minutes when Robin assisted a goal by Kennard Brown (Junior/St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) as well as Kluvers' second goal of the game. In the 26th minute, Jamie Reid's (Freshman/Glasgow, Scotland) goal assisted by Robin (3rd assist of the game) increased the lead to 5-0 in favor of the Bengals of University of Maine at Fort Kent.

Goals in the second half were scored by Pierre-Olivier Lechance (Senior/Ste Jerome, Quebec) assisted by Matias Gandulfo (Freshman/Salta, Argentina), Glenn De Frietas (Sophomore/Johannesburg Gauteng, South Africa), Daniel Blackwood (Sophomore/St. Elizabeth, Jamaica), Willie Monthe (Junior/ Metz, France) assisted by Lechance. Fisher's bright spot was the fifteen saves by their goalkeeper on the Bengals' twenty-four shots on goal. After all was said and done, the Falcons fell to the Bengals by a final score of 9-0.

The Falcons' next game will be played at home on September 15th against Saint Joseph College of Vermont with a start time of 1:00 pm. The Bengals will travel to New York for their next game on September 8th when they face Daemen College at 12:30 pm.
