Falcons Fall to Eagles, 8-3

Nashua – Seven different players scored goals and the Daniel Webster men's soccer team notched its highest single game scoring output since 2011 with an 8-3 victory over Fisher College in a NCAA-NAIA crossover regional contest Monday at Eagle Field.

Andrew Sousa (Raymond, Maine) and Nick Bonneau (Methuen, Mass.) paced DWC (4-4) with a goal and assist apiece, Erick Germano (Lowell, Mass.) had a pair of assists, while Marcos Vieira Filho (Hudson, N.H.), Lino Chaves (Revere, Mass.), Birame Coundoul (Bronx, N.Y.), Erick Bourdeau (Alton Bay, N.H.) and Chasen Congreves (Essex Junction, Vt.) added single scores.

Robert Abreau (Salem, Mass.) led the Falcons (1-4) with two scores while Alex Klein (Easton, Conn.) added one.

The eight Eagle goals was one score short of tying the program single game record set twice - in 1993 and again in 1995.

DWC took control early scoring three times in the first 6:21 as Filho put the hosts ahead just 30 seconds in, Chaves followed at the 4:10 mark and Bourdeau made it 3-0 in the sixth.

Abreau put the Falcons on the board in the 31st and after Fisher potted an own goal for a 4-1 game, Abreau added his second just before the break for a 4-2 game at the half.

Sousa upped it to 5-2 in the 47th, while Coundoul netted his first collegiate score in the 60th for a 6-2 game.

Klein would cut the lead back to three for Fisher in the 7th, but Congreves (83rd) and Bonneau (88th) iced it down the stretch for the winners.

Yves Charles (Boston, Mass.) made 15 saves for Fisher in goal, while Sal Santa Maria (Thomaston, Conn.) made one saves in 60 minutes, while Marty Davis (Bloomsburg, Penn.) added one stop over the final 30.

The Eagles close out a five-game home stand when they host Nichols on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The Falcons next game is at home on Saturday against UMaine-Presque Isle at 3:00 p.m.
